  • Do students participate in the cooking?
    Yes, we welcome our students to participate in the hands-on cooking classes, where we’ll teach you both cooking basics and advanced culinary techniques. The chef instructor will help guide students and do some demonstrations throughout class. Based out of our kitchen studio, you’ll be provided with both the skill and tools need to prepare a four-course meal (usually 5), as well as the time to sit down and eat it properly together.  Check out our events page to see what is being offered currently or to find the perfect theme night for you. NOTE: All menus subject to foods available and in season.  If you have any allergies, please let us know ahead of class to accommodate.
  • When can I have a party?
    We are ready to party when you are! Cook LA cooking school is happy to get cooking whenever you please, 7 days a week.  Our kitchen studio is also available for rent for corporate team building events, film/video production shoots, birthday parties, special anniversaries, or just to teach cooking classes, please call for details.

  • Will you come to my house or favorite space for a party or event?
    Absolutely! (Additional travel fees apply.) Just let us know where you’d like to have it and we’ll work with you to make it happen.   • Do you have classes for adults?
    What are adults but big kids? Get in touch with your inner child and party with Cook LA cooking school. Check out our Classes/events page for adult classes.  We even have baby food-making classes for new moms! We have options that will work great for any work event as well, bachelorette party or bridal shower.
  • What do we make during a class or event?
    Our kitchen creations range from homemade pasta to French Macarons to International Cuisines - and we don’t stop there. If you dream it up, we’ll cook it up. Need some ideas? Don’t worry, we can email you a list of party themes and menus. NOTE: All menus subject to foods available and in season
  • What age group do you cater to?
    Whether your toddler just wants to get his hands in some pizza dough or your teenager wants to learn all the tricks for dorm cooking, we have it! Our kids’ classes usually cater to ages 5 to 14, but we are happy to work with you to develop a class or party for kids of any age.
  • What are the minimum & maximum number of kids or adults at a class/event?
    Call us any time for the inside scoop on private or small-group sessions and large cooking events. The kitchen Studio can take up to 24 maximum adults for hands-on classes. Minimum for birthdays are 10 kids and each additional child is extra.
  • Do we accommodate special dietary or food allergy restrictions?
    Because our menus are planned specifically for each event, we can absolutely accommodate requests including but not limited to kosher, nut- and dairy-free menus. Please contact us about specific dietary or allergy concerns.
  • Can children with disabilities or special needs attend our classes?
    Special accommodations and arrangements can be made to meet the needs of any student wanting to attend a class, party, or other event.  Give us a heads up of any special needs and we’ll make sure your little guy or gal is taken care of.
  • Who are Cook LA teacher/instructors?
    At our events, all classes will be supervised and instructed by energetic and supportive teachers with extensive teaching and childcare experience as well as formal and informal culinary experience. They can’t wait to teach “Big Cooks or Lil’ Cooks” the art of cooking and baking!
  • Do you do custom pricing and party packages?
    Yes.  If you don’t see it on our website, we would love to create a package just for your needs.

  • Do you have age restrictions for your classes?
    At Cook LA, our Big Cooks classes are available for ages 16 and up. Our Lil’ Cooks classes are available for ages 5-15years of age.
  • Is wine served in class?
    Check the individual class description for more information.
  • Is it safe to use my credit card on-line?
    Yes! Online payment via credit card is secure, fast, easy and will guarantee that your registration is processed immediately. You will receive a confirmation that acts as a receipt for your purchase.
  • What methods of payment do you accept ?
    Our online system allows us to accept Visa, Master Card, American Express and Discover through Paypal.  You do not need a Paypal account to register for a class.
  • How do I cancel or reschedule a class?
    Once you’ve registered for a class, your credit card will be charged and confirmation email will be sent to you. Payment is required to confirm your spot in class. There are no refunds for purchased tickets. Please make sure you sign up for the class, date and time you want.  We do not offer refunds for tickets purchased. If you need to cancel and reschedule, you may do so as long as it is up to 3 days before the class. Cook LA will provide you with credit for the same amount for any future class of your choice. If you sign up or a class and do not show up, it is a used ticket and if you’d like to reschedule, there is a $25 per ticket charge.  Gift certificates also use the same policies for cancellations and no shows. PLEASE NOTE: If we do hold the class as planned, we will be unable to offer credits or refunds if you do not appear. If the class is cancelled, we will gladly hold a credit in your name for a future class or issue a refund for your class.
